Places I Enjoyed Visiting In Atlanta…(Psst!..This is not an Ad)

So,my family went down to Atlanta this summer for a few days..This would be my second time visiting, but this visit was particularly more fun and the weather was perfect. Below are some of the photos of places we visited. The Coca-cola place was the most fun for me(had so much fun,I forgot to take more photos)-I got to taste almost all the 60 coca-cola flavors (some yummy, some yucky).

Downtown Atlanta-where all the fun is :)

Water Fountain At The Centennial Olympic Park.

CNN Headquarters.

The Stone Mountain-(The Confederate Memorial Carving).
You get a good work-out hiking the trail and climbing the mountain. There are other attractions there.

Most of the fun places here are within walking distance .
(John Pemberton was the inventor of the Coca-cola Beverage)

Main Lobby of the Coca-cola Place.

The Aquarium

The tasting center at the Coca-cola place
(Where my taste buds got “confused”  after tasting more than 50 flavors…lol!)

The  Center for Civil & Human Rights is located to the left.(We didn’t get to visit)
The famous Emory University is somewhere behind the Ferris wheel :)

…..Enjoy The Ride….☀☀

I read the article below in a devotional and I thought I’d share. I am one of those people that usually , "rush to the next moment”,wants to know what is “over the horizon”,need to have things planned out way ahead(Don’t get me wrong, there is absolutely nothing wrong with planning and aspiring)…But I have learnt and still learning to enjoy each Moment(Good or Bad), each Friendship, each Relationship, each Position, each Neighborhood, each Opportunity and Disappointment ..etc….Life, as they say, is a journey…..

JOY IN THE JOURNEY

Famous UCLA basketball coach John Wooden led one of the greatest dynasties in sports history, winning 10 NCAA Championships in 12 years. Toward the end of his life, he was asked what one day from his storied career he would choose to re-live if given the chance. His answer may surprise you.
Given his professional achievements, you’d think Coach Wooden would be eager to re-live one of his national championships, his selection into the Hall of Fame, or one of his teams’ greatest come-from-behind victories. Instead, he suggested he would conduct one more day of practice in the gym. Why? Because, he said, “each day of practice was, by far, the most fulfilling, exciting, and memorable thing I did as a coach. That’s where I taught those under my supervision how to achieve success as members of a team.”

Coach Wooden saw something we often miss. While it’s easy to believe that our deepest joy comes from the mountaintop experiences of our lives, it’s finding meaning and purpose in our day-to-day activities that brings true satisfaction.

Jokes of The Day.

New to Texting

An elderly couple had just learned how to send text messages on their mobile phones. The wife was a romantic type and the husband was more of a no-nonsense guy.
One afternoon the wife went out to meet a friend for coffee. She decided to send her husband a romantic text message and she wrote:
“If you are sleeping, send me your dreams. If you are laughing, send me your smile. If you are eating, send me a bite. If you are drinking, send me a sip. If you are crying, send me your tears. I love you.”
The husband texted back to her: “I’m on the toilet. Please advise.”

Memory Lane
Two elderly couples were enjoying friendly conversation when one of the men asked the other,” Fred, how was the memory clinic you went to last month?" "Outstanding," Fred replied. "They taught us all the latest psychological techniques: visualization, association, etc. It was great." "That's great! And what was the name of the clinic?" Fred went blank. He thought and thought, but couldn't remember. Then a smile broke across his face and he asked, "What do you call that flower with the long stem and thorns?"
"You mean a rose?"
"Yes, that's it!" He turned to his wife, "Rose, what was the name of that memory clinic?"

The Sleeping Pill
A man goes to visit his 85-year-old grandpa in the hospital.
“How are you, Grandpa?” he asks.
“Feeling fine,” says the old man.
“What’s the food like?”
“Terrific, wonderful menus.”
“And the nursing?”
“Just couldn’t be better. These young nurses really take care of you.”
“What about sleeping? Do you sleep OK?”
“No problem at all, nine hours solid every night. At 10 o’clock they bring me a cup of hot chocolate and a Viagra tablet … and that’s it. I go out like a light.”
The grandson is puzzled and a little alarmed by this, so rushes off to question the nurse in charge. “What are you people doing?!” he says, “I’m told you’re giving an 85-year-old Viagra on a daily basis. Surely that can’t be true?”
“Oh, yes,” replies the nurse. “Every night at 10 o’clock we give him a cup of hot chocolate and a Viagra tablet. It works wonderfully well. The hot chocolate makes him sleep, and the Viagra stops him from rolling out of bed.”

Omega-3 Fatty Acid And Depression.

Earlier this year, I decided to start taking over-the -counter 1000mg Omega-3 fatty acids mainly to "confirm"it's benefits on moods-I had a couple of episodes of prolonged "moodiness” for a period of about 2 to 3 months.(Not sure if it was from hormones, stress or winter blues).Anyway, after  more than 6 months of taking Omega-3 regularly and I can attest to the fact that fish oil does is beneficial for mood regulation.
My capstone paper was on the "Benefits of Omega-3 Fatty Acid in Preventing or Treating Postnatal Depression", in the process I got a lot of information from  clinical studies that focused on the benefits of Omega-3 fatty acids-benefits ranging from preventing cardiovascular events, healthy skin to improving cognitive behavior in newborn and elderly.
The 2 common types of Omega-3 Fatty acid are the EPA and the DHA, which are readily available from oily fish like Mackerel, Sardines,Salmon,Herring. Most of the studies are yet to come up with the recommended dose of fish oil or fish per day,but the usual over-the-counter doses seem to be beneficial and at least 2 servings of fish per week is the general recommendation.
Within the body, EPA and DHA are found in very high concentration in brain tissue and are believed to play an important role in nerve function and mood regulation. However, the concentration of EPA and DHA can be depleted with age, pregnancy, or illness and thus would need to be replenished.

Depression  is a deadly disease that should not be ignored. Please reach out to people suspected to have depression, call and alert health professionals when you or someone you know is contemplating suicide.
Most people feel the  "blues" every now and again, didn't recognize it as depression /couldn't put a name to it and/or couldn't "shake it off”.
The major contributing factors to depressive moods are: Stress, Illness, Lack of sleep, Low socio-economic situations.

The signs for depressive moods to look out for are:(That lasts for more than a couple of weeks)
-Being easily irritable and tearful.
-Not enjoying and neglecting ones usual daily activities.
-Not paying attention to personal hygiene.
-Deliberately avoiding friends and family for no reason.
-Too much sleep or lack of sleep.
-Lack of appetite or too much appetite for food.

Keep Calm and Stop Ebola.

Important Information pertinent to the Ebola Outbreak:
  1. The suspected reservoirs for Ebola are fruit bats.
  2.  Transmission to humans is thought to originate from infected bats or primates that have become infected by bats.
  3.  Undercooked infected bat and primate (bush) meat transmits the virus to humans.
  4. Human to human transmission is only achieved by physical contact with a person who is acutely and gravely ill from the Ebola virus or their body fluids.
  5.  Transmission among humans is almost exclusively among caregiver family members or health care workers tending to the very ill.
  6.  The virus is easily killed by contact with soap, bleach, sunlight, or drying. A washing machine will kill the virus in clothing saturated with infected body fluids.
  7.  A person can incubate the virus without symptoms for 2-21 days, the average being 5-8 days before becoming ill. THEY ARE NOT CONTAGIOUS until they are acutely ill.
  8.  Only when ill does the viral load express itself first in the blood and then in other bodily fluids (to include vomit, feces, urine, breast milk, semen and sweat).
  9.  If you are walking around you are not infectious to others.
  10.  There are documented cases from Kikwit, DRC of an Ebola outbreak in a village that had the custom of children never touching an ill adult. Children living for days in small one room huts with parents who died from Ebola did not become infected.
  11. You cannot contract Ebola by handling money, buying local bread or swimming in a pool.
  12.  There is no medical reason to stop flights, close borders, restrict travel or close embassies, businesses or schools.
  13.  As always practice good hand washing techniques, but you will not contract Ebola if you do not touch a dying person.
  14. People can survive Ebola. It is not a death sentence.
  15. Bathing with salt and eating bitter cola will not prevent or cure Ebola.
  16. Severely ill patients require intensive supportive care-IV fluids or oral rehydration that contain electrolytes.
  17. The serum that could potentially cure ebola will take months to manufacture. http://www.nydailynews.com/life-style/health/cdc-issues-highest-level-alert-ebola-outbreak-article-1.1895154

So,Why Do Women Cheat?...

Sure, you all are familiar with the very popular  trending topic “Why men cheat?” and the different opinions like “Men are monogamous in nature and would cheat even though they are in a happy relationship ” ,“Men cheat because they are bored”, and so on and so forth..However, I wonder why the question asking “Why women cheat “ is not so popular.
I have read some articles about it and the reasons why women cheat are very similar to why men cheat, except that women are not polygamous in natureOr are they?
In my opinion, I think women cheat because they seek:

1. Emotional Connection   2. Financial Support   3. Revenge (On a cheating hubby)         4. Adventure

Rutgers University biological anthropologist Helen Fisher, author ofWhy Him? Why Her?andWhy We Love, says men are more likely to cite sexual motivations for infidelity and are less likely to fall in love with an extramarital partner. Women, she says, tend to have an emotional connection with their lover and are more likely to have an affair because of loneliness.
"Women tend to be more unhappy with the relationship they are in," Fisher says, "while men can be a lot happier in their primary relationship and also cheat.  Women are more interested in supplementing their marriage or jumping ship than men are -- for men, it is a secondary strategy as opposed to an alternate.

Dr Mike Murdock summed it all nicely in the photo below and it applies to both men and women…..
